Santarém - Pará - Amazônia - Brasil By Levi Freire Jr

Levi Freire Jr -  Passeio Rio Tapajós & Rio Amazonas - Brasil

Me receberam e me acolheram com uma simpatia que me emocionou. Obrigado!

Santarém - Pará - Amazon - Brazil By Levi Freire Jr

After One hour flight time from the capital Belem arrived at city of Santarem, one of 144 municipalities that compose the Para State.

Santarém is the second largest city in the state and most importantly, economically, the West region. It has 294 000 inhabitants (IBGE 2010) and an enviable tourist potential, but too little explored. Some tourist facilities, such as the airport, urgently need to be expanded to welcome Brazilian and foreign tourists, I saw many tourists here. The brand Amazon that needs to be further explored. Another important factor is the training, qualification and suitability of services that has direct contact with the tourist example: taxi drivers, hotels and restaurants.

However, these structural deficiencies can be adjusted through public initiatives coupled with partnerships with the private sector, it is imperative that ratify these structural deficiencies don’t take the magic there is in the Amazon, one of the greatest assets of the planet!
Fish from amazon region, as Peacock and catfish.

We arrived the end of one of the main festivals of Santarém "The Círio of Our Lady of Conception," patron saint of the city. Facing one of the main architectural icons, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Conception: shows, Arraial and fireworks to end the night.

The city was built the banks of the Tapajós River, one of the icons of the Amazon region. It's right in front of Santarém we found another giant Amazon, the Amazon River. Tapajós and Amazon are fighting for space, and depending on the time of year we have a winner. But the fact is that its waters never mix, in this sense, some prefer to call "Meeting of the Waters": emerald-green (Tapajós) and muddy (Amazon).

Anyone who comes here it is privileged to be one of the most beautiful regions of the world.
